Which Ambulance is Right for Hospital Transportation? (click)

Hospital patients are transferred from one hospital to a ground ambulance, then to an air ambulance. This is done carefully and quickly. Medical crews ride with the patient in the ground ambulance and either go with the patient on the flight, or are transferred to the appropriate medical flight crews who are waiting with the plane. After the flight, the patient is transported by ground ambulance to the other hospital.

Take A Tour: How It Works

After introducing themselves to the patient and family, the medical team conducted a thorough on-site assessment of the patient to verify her condition.

American Air Ambulance has received many letters from families expressing gratitude. Some of the comments we have received are paraphrased below.

What more can I say? Thank you for finally bringing us all together and making it happen through your traveling medical assistant.

I want you to know how grateful we all are that you were able to make all the traveling medical assistant arrangements so quickly to get him home to San Diego. Everyone was so nice and efficient and the pilot did a great job.

I want to thank you for all that you did for me. Your life flight are truely life savers and we continue to sing your praises whenever we talk about the entire incident.

The professional manner that you had was coupled with a warm concern that we both felt. Your traveling medical assistant helped put the nightmare behind us. And, despite the cold and the snow we are both very relieved to be home.

Thank you so much for your concerns and your help in transporting us to Baltimore. I really can't thank you enough for your life flight. As a parent, I think that you can understand my deep, deep gratitude. I hope you realize your job is very, very worthwhile and families like ours will be eternally grateful!!!!
